Barry C. Brotine is an Associate Regional Counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company. Be it anything in between a billion-dollar construction financing of commercial and industrial facilities to a $5,000 condo parking spot, Barry’s job is to ensure all title issues are legally sufficient to be insured at closing.

Barry's career started with interning for the Winnetka Zoning Department and then two years at City of Chicago Zoning Department. He then worked as an economic development officer for the City of Urbana. After graduation from Chicago-Kent College of Law as senior editor of the law review, Barry entered private practice. By his third year of practice, he was named a SuperLawyers Illinois Rising Star. In 2011, Barry joined the in-house litigation team at Fidelity National Title Group. There, Barry was heavily involved in some of the largest title insurance litigation cases including the Chicago Spire, the Mandarin Hotel, the Brookmire subdivision, and the Prairie Ridge Estates dispute. Having spent 15 years litigating real estate and title claims, Barry has developed unique expertise in mechanic’s liens, tax deed, lien priority, and quiet title actions. Barry is also a frequent speaker on issues of title law and underwriting to various local bar associations, property and title associations, and trade associations. He also serves as the current legal descriptions professor for the Illinois Land Title Association.
